I have been teaching with simulation in health care education sine 2009, both in the academic and the hospital setting. I have been a Certified Healthcare Simulation educator since 2016, and earned my PhD in nursing from Washington State University in 2021. My PhD research explored the use of simulation prebriefing in pre-licensure nursing programs across the United States. I have published a prebriefing concept analysis and I was invited to serve on two Healthcare Simulation Standards of Best Practice committees and co-authored the Simulation Design and Prebriefing standards. Locally I serve on the Pacific Northwest Healthcare Simulation Consortium board as Vice President. I promote faculty and professional continuing development and have presented at the local and national level at simulation, nursing science, and healthcare education conferences on a variety of topics including prebriefing in simulation, in situ simulation programs, and innovations in nurse education.
